There was a rich farmer and old who had worked hard all his
life. But now, he had grown old and was ailing. He had three young sons who
were very lazy and they did not want to do any work. So, the farmer was very
anxious about the future of his sons. He wanted to be sure that after his
death, his sons would give the same attention to the farm as he had given
throughout his life. One day he called his sons to his bed and said, “My sons,
I have something important to share with you. There is a great treasure lying
hidden in one of my fields. If you dig them properly, you will find it and
become very rich.” After the farmer’s death, the sons started digging every
portion of the lands. They continued to dig for days and days but did not find
the treasure. Finally they became angry and at the time of returning home, they
sowed some seeds without any mission in their land. Days passed. Soon, the
crops grew lushly green. After two months they went to the field and became
surprised seeing huge crops in the field. Finally they understood the meaning
of their father’s message. Then, they left their laziness and started working
in their fields and became happy.
