There lived a greedy farmer in a village. He had a wonderful
goose. The goose used to lay an egg of gold every day. The farmer was very
greedy. He thought that the stomach of the goose was full of eggs. If he could
get all the eggs at a time he would be a rich man quickly. To satisfy his
greed, he cut the belly of the goose but found no egg there. He became
extremely disappointed and lost the valuable goose forever. Far from becoming
rich, he became poorer. Through this incident, the farmer understood that over
greediness brought misfortune to him.

that greediness brought misfortune for him.

thought if he cut the belly of the goose he would get all the eggs at a time
and by this way, he would be rich overnight. So, to have all the eggs at a time
one day he took a sharp knife and cut the belly of the goose. But alas! There
was no egg inside it. He was very sorry and started crying. Finally, he realized
his fault, and the reason behind losing all was his greediness.
